In-service Day: The Dept. of Education have advised us that an in-service day for the New Language Curriculum will be held on Mon Feb 13th. 2017. Children will not attend school on that day.
Christmas Card Art : Thanks to all the children who completed the Christmas Cards. These are now on their way to the printer.
Parent Teacher Meetings.
Parent Teacher meetings will take place on Wednesday November 9th. If you haven’t returned the slip with your most suitable time please do so straight away. Parents/guardians will receive a time for the meeting from teachers on Thurs Oct 27th. Please check your child’s journal on Thurs for appointment time. Please note that on Wed Nov 9th. children from Junior and Senior Infants will go home at the usual time of 1:30 p.m. Children from 1st. to 6th. class will go home at 2:15 p.m. On Wednesday Nov 9th. the school will be very congested so I would greatly appreciate it if alternative arrangements could be made for your children so that only parents/guardians come to the meetings .
Cross Country: The inter-schools cross country competition will take place in Bellewstown Racecourse onWed Nov 16th. at 11 a.m. Children have been training for a no. of weeks. We hope to pick boys’ and girls’ teams at U-11 and U-13 when we come back after the mid-term break.
Halloween Art Competition: The children are currently completing their pictures for the Halloween Art Competition. The entries will be judged on Thurs. Thanks to the Parents’ Association for providing the prizes.
Active Video: As part of our Active Schools Flag application Ms Mc Kenna with the help of staff and students created a film. This was entered into the Fís Film Festival. This video has been shortlisted for the final. A number students have been selected to attend the awards ceremony in the Helix on 16th of November. We wish all attending the film festival the best of luck
Halloween: On Friday any children who wish may dress up. This is a fun event and in light of the recent controversy regarding the scary clowns it might be best to avoid clown costumes. School closes on Fri at the normal times. (1:30 Junior and Senior Infants, 2:30 1st. to 6th.)
