March 2017

Dear Parents/Guardians,

Currently 97% of pupils are availing of the current Book Rental Scheme and we are continuing with this scheme for the school year 2017/2018.

What will the scheme cover:

* Textbooks, Workbooks, Copy books, Stationery (Junior Infants will pay a stationery subsidy to the teacher – this is not included), Online reading resources and Irish programs

In addition, to make it even more convenient, we are now including the Classroom Resources and Art contribution.

The scheme provides significant savings, as well as the convenience of having it all done for you before your child starts holidays in June 2017.

The total cost of the scheme this year will be €100 per pupil.

Don’t worry if you aren’t currently part of the scheme it is not too late – there is a “Joining Fee” of €10 for pupils who are not currently using the scheme (excluding incoming Junior Infants)

Current pupil – already on scheme €100

Current pupil – joining scheme for the first time €100 plus €10 joining fee

Incoming Junior Infant €100 plus stationery subsidy to the teacher

Pupils not part of the scheme Cost of books on booklist Cost of Online reading resources Cost of Online Irish Programs Classroom Resources and Art Contribution

Again this year there is also a non-refundable portion of the fee. Once you sign up for the scheme we start to buy and prepare books for you, therefore €15 of the fee is non-refundable.

The plan is to collect payment for the scheme in early May – most likely the first week. This will ensure that your child receives their books in June.

We, as always, will continue to sign pupils up into May and June despite the extra pressure this adds. The books for latecomers will be available in August – the week prior to school re-opening.

Next steps:

End of April, you will receive another letter explaining the Terms and Conditions of the scheme and a payment envelope. If you are unable to pay the full amount during the collection week we will happily take a deposit (minimum €20 per child) to secure your place in the book rental scheme. All outstanding amounts must be paid before your child will be given their books for next year.

We would like to thank Mr. Barrett and the Board of Management for their continued support and funding provided towards the setup and maintenance of the scheme. This commitment will allow us to offer even greater savings to parents in the future.
