First of all I’d like to welcome back all the children for the New Year and hope everybody had a nice Christmas. Below are a no. of dates for some upcoming events
Enrolment Night: Enrolment Night for parents/guardians of the Junior Infants who are registered for admission to school in Sept. 2016 will take place in the Clonard Hall in the Rainbow School at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday 4th. of February. It is important that parents who intend enrolling a child should attend. Enrolment forms will be given out on the night.
Credit Union Quiz: Best of luck to the children from 4th. 5th. and 6th. classes who will be competing in the Credit Union Quiz at the Drogheda College of Further Education, The Twenties on Fri Jan 29th. at 7 p.m.
First Confessions: First Confessions, for the children receiving First Communion will take place in Stamullen Church on Tuesday February 16th. at 7 p.m.
Ceremony of Light: The 6th. class children who are receiving Confirmation will be participating in the Ceremony of Light in Stamullen Church on Tues February 2nd. at 7:30 p.m.
Art/Photocopying: If you have already sent in the €40 for classroom resources thank you very much. This money is used by teacher to buy art materials primarily but also for stationery, photocopying, markers etc. which are needed in the classroom. The money collected is spent by the teachers for the benefit of all the children in their class irrespective of who has paid. If you haven’t sent it in to teacher I would encourage you to contribute whatever you can afford. There is a discount of €5 per child in families of two or more children. Thank you for your co-operation.
Grandparents’ Day: As partof Catholic School s‘ Week (Jan 31st – Feb 6th) grandparents are invited to visit the school and their grandchildren. This year it will take place on Thursday February 4th from 9:30 to 10:30.
Stay Safe: The Stay Safe programme is being taught in all classes from Senior Infants up starting next week. The aim of the Stay Safe Programme is to reduce vulnerability to child abuse and bullying. The programme develops children’s ability to recognise, resist and report risk situations or abusive encounters. There is detailed information on the Stay Safe Programme and also valuable advice on safe use of the internet at www.staysafe.ie . A limited no. of the Parents’ Guide booklets are available from the office.
Parking: Parking spaces which have a wheelchair painted on the ground are for people who have a disabled parking permit displayed on their windscreen. There is one such space near the top pedestrian gate. Please show consideration for disabled drivers.
