Mr King's 6th Class have been very busy participating in the Junior Entrepeneur Programme.
The Junior Entrepreneur programme is an easy to follow and well structured programme designed for older classes to encourage them to start thinking like entrepreneurs and to inspire the future business generation. The programme involves numerous steps or points that the class must meet in order to fulfil the checklist that is sent out to the school. In order for the children's project to be judged they must complete each stage of the programme showing evidence in a class folder which then must be submitted. The programme involves idea generation, feasibility studies, testing, financing, market research, meeting the dragons and finally production and selling. Along the way we had advice from local and national Entrepreneurs who visited our classroom accessed our idea and gave us practical feedback to work on. Also along the way the class were broken up into teams to help with the process. We had a design team, sales team, finance team, marketing team and storytelling team. The class thoroughly enjoyed working on JEP, our product proved successful and the project helped create a good buzz around the school. The final part of our journey will end with the national showcase day in the RDS at the end of May.
