December has been a busy month...
Beginning with a visit from Leiutenant O'Sullivan and Private McKenna, of the Irish armed forces, to present us with our tricolour as part of the 1916 commemoration celebrations. (See Ms Griffin's class blog for photographs of the flag ceremony.)
Ms Fox, Ms McGovern and Ms O'Connor's 4th classes produced a fabulous Christmas play, which was staged on the evening of Thursday, December 17th and went down a storm. The other classes in the school had opportunities to see it on Wednesday and Friday. Everyone really enjoyed the performances.
Many Christmas themed games have been played and a LOT of Christmas-themed art lessons have been enjoyed during the month, and some of the products were displayed in the Clonard hall during the week. Finally, the second classes put on a superb performance of carols for the senior classes on Monday the 21st. We all then said a few prayers and sang some hymns, to end our first term of this school year in a lovely way.
A very happy and peaceful Christmas to you all.
